PSA: Missing young railfan

Cross-posted from Trainorders.com:

"Cheyenne authorities continue to follow up on leads, searching for 13-year-old Alexander Frye of Cheyenne.

According to friends and family, he went missing New Year’s Eve somewhere between 6 p.m. and midnight. He has blonde hair, blue eyes ad is about 5 feet tall weighing around 80-90 pounds.

Alexander was last seen wearing denim jeans, a button down shirt and a Cheyenne Frontier Days jacket.

Bryan Grzegortyk says a command post has been set up at the American Legion on east Lincolnway. He says about 80 people have been searching for Frye all day but no clues have turned up.

If you see him or know of his whereabouts, please call Cheyenne Police at [307] 637-6524. For more information on how to join the search call Grzegortyk [307] 421-5714."

Alex is a very HUGE fan of railroading so the search should wisely be spread beyond Cheyenne.

That doesn’t sound any too good. We’ll keep a lookout south of Cheyenne.

I hate to bring this up as we should all remain optimistic about this but if a mammal that only weighs 90 pounds is hit by a train and the driver/engineer does not know it is there anything left to even find, wheter it is a human being or other animal, especially if it is dragged along the tracks?

Another scenario is perhaps the kid was abducted and the kidnapper hopped on one of the open cars with this kid. How far are they extending the search?

Very sad to have to post this

It has been reported on a different forum that the boys body was found this morning.

Thanks for all who read the previous post, were concerned and those who were also keeping an eye out for Alex. Unfortunately and with a sad heart I regret to report that his body was found mid morning today. Cheyenne Wyoming police are not releasing any further information pending an investigation. Thanks once again for your help and concern.

Sad, indeed. As I read through the thread I was kinda hoping he’d simply jumped a train, maybe in a trailing unit, and would turn up further down the line.

Very Sad Indeed, was hoping it would turn out better than that.

Prayers and condolances to the family. I can’t imagine the horror of losing a child. It must be a heartbreak that only the grave can erase.
