Maybe the subject sound rare but…
I bought some postwar items and they was never cleaned.
so were is the problem, the problem is that i like the smell of
the all postwar stuff and if I clean the smell will go.
Somebody know how to clean and keep the smell.
I know that is crazy…

Only clean and lube them to the point that they run well and then run them till they smell the way you like.
I know they make scents like “new car”, but I haven’t heard of “toy train”.
Why not clean the trains, then burn some smoke pellets or liquid. You could also take a small transformer and make some ozone.[swg]
