PTC installation might require approval of Native American tribes

Silly Guse, the PTC mandate was passed by overwhelming majorities of both parties in both houses of Congress, and signed into law by George W(orthless) Bush. Therefore, your BS slam of Obama is entirely incorrect.

Streeter why don’t you leave Bush out of this and face the truth “o” can not be trusted. Your comment was way out of place.

What makes you Bush is such a saint, Donald Williams? Bush lied to the American people about WMDs so his Crony Cheney could reap huge profits from that pointless war in Iraq.

yhea finally America has to listen to its natives the amerindians.

Radio’s and antenna’s? How archaic. Run fibre optic down the trackage. Less communications issues, faster response times and no permissions necessary.

Where is Custer when you need him.

Time to play Cowboys & Indians…AGAIN.

In August 2003, the contractor building a graving dock for floating bridge pontoons in Port Angeles, WA, dug into a Native American burial site. Supposedly reviewed by consultants, archeologists, etc, the site was so large that work was halted, and eventually moved to another location. It is estimated the State of Washington spent $90 million correcting this fiasco.
Railroads that do poor archeologic reviews do so at their own peril.

I live in South Dakota. If anybody tries to build anything in the western half of the state outside of town, the tribes suddenly jump up and say the site is a sacred burial ground.

As an American citizen who is 25% Native American ( I am of Sioux heritage), I agree that the feds should have gotten together with the tribes to discuss this matter before passing any laws. Hopefully, there will be a workable solution that both sides are comfortable with. As for those who are trying to insert politics into their comments, I say grow up and put your remarks on the comics pages in the newspapers.

UP upgraded a line through Dexter, MO to enhance crew change, but forgot to get local politicians on board who nixed the project due to increased traffic on heretofore lightly used branch lines. Point being - we are notorious for not looking before we leap (often to the tune of millions of dollars).

Reference: Dextor/UPRR verses local politicians. When can anyone “local” stop any class 1 RR from doing what they want? Am curious what the incident was, MICHAEL LEHMAN ??? Thanks

All the government and R,R. need to do is give them rights to build a casino. I`ll bet there would be no problems then.

Re: J KELLY THEISEN’s comment. You get the mid-term election in 2014 to throw the bums out. Then you get the presidential election in 2016 to throw the other bum out.

I can’t wait.

If you don’t vote you shouldn’t be complaining. Americans get the kind of government they deserve.
