Just thought I would post this for all to see. Today was an open house for the Purdue University Model Railroad Club, also their 70th anniversary. Since I was on campus for a class anyway, I made it a point to stop and visit. I must say, I was impressed. The club has just finished converting over to DCC and has made a number of other changes to the layout, particularly since I was there in 1985! I spent close to an hour B/S-ing with a couple of the members and generally had a very nice time. The last time I visited was 8-9 years ago, and the members were much friendlier this visit than the last. While the layout is far from finished (are they ever?), it was still a very well done open house! If any of you are going to be in the area and have the chance to go, I would recommend visiting any open house they have. These people are to be commended on a job well done!!
Oh, and the P2K D&RGW USRA 2-8+8-2 with sound double-headed with a D&RGW 2-6+6-0 on a string of hoppers was VERY sweet! It looked good making the circuits that were set up on the layout.
