Putting a link in a signature

Okay, what’s the trick for getting a clickable link to show up in your signature? I see that a number of you have them for your web sites. I’m been trying to figure it out for a while but to no avail. The fourm’s FAQ doesn’t seem to have any info on the topic. I’m sure it’s something fairly simple but all my ideas and attempts have fallen short.

Thanks for the help ahead of time…[:)]

[ url]LINK[ /url] (omit the spaces)

Jeffrey,

I tried that before but I’ll try it again. I know it sometimes takes 10-15 minutes for things (like an avatar) is visually change on your post. I’ll give it another shot. Thanks, Jeffrey! [:)]

Tom

Jeffrey,

I don’t know what happened the first time I tried it but that did the trick! Many thanks! [:)]

Tom

Looks like you got it.

It will automaticaly turn into a hyperlink if you type in the www and the .com like this www.whatever.com . At least it does it for me. you have to put a space after it so it knows that it is the end if the url

Tom,

If you want to get really creative, you could do something like this:

[ url=“http://home.earthlink.net/~tstage”]Tom’s NYC Site[ /url]

itll look like this:

Tom’s NYC Site

Thanks for the tip, Dan. [:)][tup] Wish your link would work as well as mine though. [swg] Seriously, for whatever reason, the link - although the address appears to be correct when you hover the mouse pointer over it - doesn’t go to my website.

Tom

[Update: Dan, I figured it out. You left off the “g” between the the “t” and “s” in my URL. Works great now! Thanks again for the HTML lesson. I’m going to have to remember that one.]

LOL!

I was writing the URL from memory, and looked at yout username here.[#oops]

That’s okay, Dan. Even real CEs make “misteaks” every once in a while. In any event, I still appreciate the free HTML lesson. [:D]

Tom

this isn’t HTML… its BB Code…

HTML would be

Tom’s NYC Site

(i hope the above shows up the way I want it to)

edit: yay it did!

even cooler:

[ url=“http://home.earthlink.net/~tgstage”][ img]http://home.earthlink.net/~tgstage/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/nyclogo-small.jpg[ /img][ /url]

looks like:

edit: too bad this doesn’t woek the way it’s supposed to (the image SHOULD have linked to your website, not just the “larger” pic

and the above in HTML :
