Putting an interior into an old coach

I have both MDC Overton and Overland coaches. The SP Daylight is beautiful, but you can see right through them. There is no sense of realism at all. I see no reason why I can’t add windows, but where am I going to get seats, etc. The idea of scratching a couple dozen bench seats is not appealing.

Assuming this is HO scale, would the Grandt Line coach seats work? They are available in both standard and narrow gauge configurations.

I have an old set of Roundhouse Palace cars that I was going to eventually detail to a much higher degree than the rest of my passenger fleet, including interior lighting. These were going to be my fictional railroad’s premiere train and I was going to do it up right. I believe at one time they made interiors for these cars that I never got. I haven’t checked the Horizon website to see if they still make those or not.

If you can’t find interiors for your specific model, could you buy interiors for other cars and cut and paste them to fit your cars?

Company by the name of palace car company makes more modern seats but they have the drawings for seats that would go in a overton and would proubly proced if there is enough intrest, otherwize grant line but I feel these are too detailed for interiors that you can only see some of though windows, they make potbellied stoves ect. and other upgrades for the overtons too.

Did you know that the Walthers site has an Advanced Search capability to locate these and other parts?

In HO Scale, entering the keyword: ‘seats’ yields several hits, many with linked photos. Under the Super Detailing Parts category, entering the keywords: ‘sink’, ‘rest room’, ‘toilet’, or ‘stove’ provides sources, MSRP, and availablity for those items.
