Does anyone know if these sets are out yet? If they are, does anyone have any experience with the new and improved 736 berk? How did you like it?
Thanks in advance

The latest word from Lionel is they won’t be out before summer 08. they are having trouble getting parts from one of their suppliers. Of course you must consider that what is said there can change the same day.
How about the PWC Fyling Yankee set? Anyword on that one??
sir james,
I hadn’t heard about that delay on the Berkshire set yet. I emailed Lionel about the shipping date for this set 2 or 3 weeks ago and they responded by telling me they would be shipped in March '08. At that same time, the the website’s schedule was updated to March '08 and it still has March '08 as the current shipping date. It seems that they just keep pushing things further and further back. The 2007 vol. 2 catalog was released in February '07 and this set had a shipping date of Nov '07 at the time, and now we’re looking at a delivery date of summer '08. That’s pretty dissapointing.
Williams perhaps??? [;)]

Go Pats!
That info. is what I got, living in Lionel land truths halftruths and rumors are every day events here. Even from employees in the know find things change fast so nothing is ever certain. I gave you the info. I had and as stated that can change very quickly…S.J.
Flying Yankee is now scheduled for shipping in June, 2008. I’ll believe it when I see it.
Go to Lionel’s website, click on “Products,” then click on “Shipping Schedule” and you can find the latest info on all Lionel and K-Line items.
I’ve found being patient [hard for me to do] is required in this hobby. All manufacturers are good at promising. Just sit back and wait. You will not be disappointed.
I almost bought a restored one at a train show last weekend. Nice price. But where’s the fun in buying something already restored?
I’m looking forward to seeing photos of the new 736 Berk. Can’t wait to see how closely it matches the original. I wonder if it will have an opening door boiler front…

Wouldn’t buy a fake one when you can get the real thing. [:-^]
