I went to the Erie PA Train Show yesterday and after the show coming back I heard on my scanner say Q351 Erie. I knew when I was in Erie and I heard that annoucement it had to have UP Power and the engineer said UP 5846. The second unit was UP 5295… I saw him go by under a bridge in Erie and I followed him until Madison Ohio. I took Interstate 90 West to catch up to him. My scanner works. I used 160.860 for the frequency from Erie Pennsylvania to Madison Ohio to hear him for about 45 to 50 miles. I didn’t use 160.800. Thanks Rich for telling me what the frequency was. I didn’t know 160.860 calls the signals I thought 160.800 is just the only frequency along this route. At the time through Erie he was going 47 MPH and when he came through Madison he was going about the same speed. He came through Madison at 4:20PM. This was yesterday March 1st, 2009. When he came through Madison he met up with a CSX Intermodal with 3 CSX Engines. Q351 cut out the annoucement of Intermodal Train. If the Intermodal did say an annoucement I would have missed it because I shut the scanner off. It was fun following Q351 from Erie to Madison.
