QSI Upgrade Chip for Quantum

I was at LitchfieldStation and saw this item.

Its an upgrade chip for the Quantum sound system and includes Regulated Throttle Control (back - EMF) among other things.

Anyone install this chip?

They aren’t available yet. Check the QSIndustries group on Yahoo, there’s been a long-running discussion on the upgrade and what it does, including input from the programmer at QSI.

I will join that Yahoo group. I have only a small swtiching layout, but I find myself really becoming addicted to DCC and sound, and enjoy the tweaking.

off topic , but i think the smaller the layout , the more important details , like sound , become . look at british layouts , most of them are small , some the detail is so fantastic you’d think you could eat the vegetables out of the tiny gardens [:)]

I can’t wait for the upgrade to come out. I have five QSI engines I hope to upgrade. I hardly ever run my non-sound units anymore. Once you go sound it’s difficult to go back.
