Does anyone know or have a suggestion as to where I might find TTX qttx (heavy duty flat car) decals in HO scale? I’m painting and detailing an older Walthers 75’ depresed flat car. Thanks
This Microscale set http://www.microscale.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MD&Product_Code=87-578&Category_Code=TTX and this set http://www.microscale.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MD&Product_Code=87-579&Category_Code=TTX both have OTTX.
I looked at a couple pictures and the difference between the “O” and the “Q” seems just to be that little tail on the “Q”. Maybe it would be possible to just paint a white tail on the “Q”. With a little weathering no one would be the wiser.
Thanks for your suggestion, I’ll give it a try.
Rather than paint, I suggest cutting a piece of straight lettering the right length and adding it to the O.
It will look MUCH better than a brush stroke.

The car data for an OTTX car would be considerably different than for a QTTX car. The data for different cars within each reporting mark can vary considerably also, so be sure to check and possibly modify that if you want it to be accurate for the car you are modelling.
You might also try searching Walthers website to see if there are any other manufacturers that make decals for the car you are modelling.
Microscale also makes Alaphbet and Number sets.

I was hoping also that the car data and special loading instructions would come on a set. I suppose I can use the alphabet decals for some applications.
Yes, I agree
