The link to Tony’s site is outdated. For some reason, the company that was going to sell the Quantum Revolution, Sounds Like Trains, never came to fruition.
An advertisement on page 25 of the May 2006 issue of Model Railroader announces the creation of a new company called American Hobby Distributors that will be the QSI Solutions dealer.
Hi, I´m Christian from Germany,
can anyone write in an e-mail the important things to install a available QSI- Sound for a F7,E7orE8 and there prices?
Thanks
As I’m sure you’ve guessed, there’s nothing coincidental about it – AHD is Tony’s distribution company; Tony’s Train Xchange is his retail arm. Tony took on the QSI aftermarket distribution when the SoundsLikeTrains outfit just couldn’t get it’s act together.
We’ve been hearing about the QSI aftermarket stuff for over a year; until fairly recently, I figured it was just so much “vaporware” (pardon the comparison to Microsoft), but now that Tony is involved, it’s quite likely to actually turn into a reasonable product.
This is the link to the revolution page. I get the impression that most of the current activity is geared towards the upgrade chip progam. There has been no hint on the price of the decoder as far as I know. It certainly reads as if it will be good when it finally arrives.
