Quantum sound for DC

I recently revisited the Atlas Quantum Engineer. I would like it for my layout, since I do not have a large enough layout for DCC. Does anyone know where to get aftermarket Quantum Sound Decoders for DC? I can not find them.

You can’t buy them yet but they come in various locos frm BLI, Atlas, Proto 2000, Intermountain, etc.

Tony’s Train Exchange (http://www.tonystrains.com) had been selected as the exclusive distributor of QSI after-market sound decoders and had even set up a different company to handle QSI orders; however, they have quit advertising their new company’s name and are no longer mentioning being a QSI distributor on their regular web site.

Tony’s was actually the second company to be selected by QSI and then dropped, for some unexplained reason.

QSI Solutions web site is still operating and still lists the shipping schedule for the upgrade chips. I don’t think anything has been dropped like before. If you hit the option on Tony’s site it goes back far enough to mention the QSI upgrades, includign the ‘Buy Here’ link which takes you to Tony’s ordering page for them, which also has a link to the distributor web site, which is http://www.qsisolutions.com/

I asked Quantum about these a little while ago. They said they the aftermarket sound decoders are due in the Sept-Oct time frame at $99.99 without speakers. It looks like they will be distributed by American Hobby Distributors

http://www.amhobby.com

The aftermarket decoders are not listed on the website yet.

I’ve been looking at these for some time as well, so I can’t wait.
