Hi everyone. I was at Michaels crafts earlier today. I saw the envirotex that people have mentione they used. I saw a prouct next to is calle castin’ craft clear liqui casting resin. They were sitting next to each other an this product dries clear. It is the same price as the envirotex an they are both the same size (32 oz). This prouct takes a catalyst which is sol seperately an is 6 bucks. YOu can tint it the same as you would the envirotex which they sell there at michaels or you can use acrylic paint to tent. Any thoughts.
If the two products cost the same, but you have to buy the catalyst for an additional $6, I’d say that product cost $6 more. However, if is an equal parts mix like envirotes and you end up with 64oz, it is cheaper by the ounce.
I have seen on these forums that components of envirotex will last a long time as long as they are unmixed. Unless you are planning a lot of water, I’d think 64oz would be more than you would need. Maybe someone that has used it could give you a good estimate of how much water surface you can get from each package…
My local hardware store has envirotex lite in two sizes, 16 and 32 oz. I got the smaller one for now, as I am working on a small layout and don’t have a lot of water planned for the later one Formed the bottom of the pond the other night, but may be a while before I pour the water, as I have several other parts of the project going on at this time.
Hopefully someone has used this product and can give you their experience.
If you try it, let us know what the results were, good or not so good.
Good luck,
