I’m thinking about buying a set of N scale Con-Cor heavy weights, and am wondering how smooth the trucks are on them. I have a set of smooth side, and haven’t ever had any problems with them.

I have several Con-Cor HO scale passenger cars and no matter what I do they won’t stay on the track – I’ve weighted them and changed wheelsets to no avail. The only thing left to try is putting body-mounted Kadee couplers on them instead of using the McHenry truck-mounted couplers or those hideous horn-hook couplers than came on them.
i hate concor passenger cars one of the worst cars i’ve bought is one of there passenger cars. it works some of the when i make it.
Maybe that’s why the guy didn’t want much for the cars I’m interested in…

Don’t know about N scale, but in HO I’ve tried body-mounted Kadees (#530, IIRC) and replaced the trucks. Not particularly effective, since despite serious weighting they won’t stay on the track.
ONCE i put Kadee couplers, JayBee coupler pad’s and JayBee wheels on them they were just fine - better than Rivarossi - Im talking HO here.
Dont we have an ‘N’ gauge column??
