We are working on the table on page 8. The supports for the table show the outside pieces as being 16" from the end. I don’t see how this is going to add up. It would leave 64" for the two inside braces and yet they are shown as being closer together than the ones that are 16" from the ends. Are these dimensions correct?
Hmm, I don’t find a “build a table” article in the Dec 07 Model Railroader, nor in the December Rail Model Craftsman either. One way to clarify confusing drawings is to redraw them your self. Draw three views (top, side, end). Dimension your drawings. Often things that are opaque will become clear.
What’s the name of the insert? The insert that he is taking about is the insert that comes with MR usually every four months or so. Its called Work Shop Tips and only comes in the Newstand copy. All you subscribers are missing out, lol. You didn’t think us non subscribers were going to tell you did you? Now that the cat is out of the bag everybody is going to want a copy.[:D]
They seem correct. Come in 16" from each end with your legs giving you 64" between the legs in the middle. The drawing on page P8 is missing a cross beam on the table. (only 4) The drawing on P9 has the 5 that it should have. It’s not critical. Just adjust your X braces to fit. It basically says to mount your legs next to the first cross brace in from each end.
