Question About Modern Caboose

I have a question about todays surving operational cabooses… Do they still have their ladders and roof walks or were they yanked too in the late 70’s?

Well, they shouldn’t - roofwalks were outlawed c.1965, but with different dispensations and such they held on for a while longer. I think (just from memory) that most all the cabooses I saw in the 70’s-80’s didn’t have roofwalks or ladders to the roof. I could be wrong though.

Stix, you are right. I searched railpicture web sites and every caboose I could find from 1980 on, the roofwalks and ladders were removed. Thanks for the quick response.
