Good morning-- I’m a new member here and noticed posts had to be approved by a moderator. I completely understand this is to keep the message boards spam-free just wondering how the “probationary period” works here
Thanks
Usually, your status will be changed after about 5 posts.
Welcome to the forums, so just post away…
It’s a buffer that keeps out most of the riff-raff. After five or so posts you are generally free to roam the building un-moderated…

Every forum presents a certain culture that is developed over time by its hosts. Not only does the ‘trial period’ permit the new member to be scrutinized for a period to ensure their sincerity (a problem in the not-so-distant past), but it gives the moderators an opportunity to instruct or to coach, and the newcomer to learn, the way to fit in as seamlessly as possible without ruffling feathers and be driven away needlessly. Call it “acculturation”, its term in the social sciences.

I have no idea how it works, but obviously this message got posted so I think you’re good to go.
But welcome to the forums.
Enjoy
