Question for any current CSX employee....

With the Sale of New Venture gear in DeWitt NY, will the spur from the DeWitt NY yard that leads north to NVG and a local beer distrubutor be upgraded/replaced? Whenever I walk along the tracks (their right across the street from my house), I always find spikes missing from the ties, or the ties are almost non-existance in some cases and the rail, sooner or later, will end up resting on the ballast that’s there.

A question for you. Why would CSX upgrade or replace a spur merely because New Venture has bbeen sold? It seems to me that unless there is a fundamental change in the business of NVG or the new owner truly wants to use rail upgrading of a spur would be unlikely. Also, typically, industries own spurs beyond the clearance point and are responsible for their maintenance, so it is unlikely a CSX employee would have specific knowledge about any repair or upgrade of such a spur.
