question?? KATO n-scale AC4400 = C44-9w

Good question for all you Kato gurus and collectors out there about the C44-9W and the AC4400CW. I know the body shells are different, AC4400CW has the inverter cabinet on the conductors side. Trucks and fuel tanks are the same. AC4400CW and SD70MAC use the same chassis (Mechanism).
Is the chassis (Mechanism) interchangeable between the C44-9W body and AC4400CW body?
Could someone with both locos attempt a test fit, get out the calipers and let us know the reults[;)]
