The answer is 1904! Kinda wierd isnt it
None of the above.
Palallin-
That is wrong because it isnt even up there.
I agree with Palallin, the actual year that the first electric train was released is not even in the list.
None of the above
Okay, I’m stupid, I have no clue[xx(][:o)]

I think you need to change the question to “When were Lionel trains released”. There were several pre-Lionel makers in Europe.
Ah, dissention already. That’s why I come here, day after day. Very few of us know the correct answer, so the rest of us learn.
I would hazard a guess that the first toy trains manufactured in N. America that ran on electricity were released near 1907.
I’ll take a stab and say 1902.
It Is For when Real trains were made
A long time ago in a city far far away… And that’s the best I can do without looking it up.
I can tell you one thing though, the first electric train wasn’t a locomotive, it was a gondola. (I watch Discovery channel too you know…)

83 bc
First, they had to have electricity to their homes. I would say 1912 in New York City.
1 hour until the answer
Lets just check the time
Just my opinion, I thought the question was a bit too generic. I was somewhat confused by the word “released.” Did you mean when the first one was made? Or did you mean when a locomotive company first made one publically available to railroads? Are we talking just the US, or other places?
Wasn’t the first electric locomotive ever built in 1834 by Robert Davidson? Didn’t it run off of galvanic cells or something?
Hey, I think I was the only one to vote for 1904? I dunno, it was one of the ones that only got one vote.

Boy we were all smart enough not to pick 1906!!!
Will
prototype electric trains were going before 1900
I recall reading an article about an Ives setup in some house, 3 rail standard gauge size
I dont recall the year.
I love your trivia idea, hope you don’t mind me starting my own on the Trains forum. Go ahead and guess, I think the answer will fool you all.
