Question of the Day!

What locomotive do you like the most? EX:The big boy, GP-40, Dash-8.

The EMD E-1. The most aestheticaly pleasing locomotive in North America, especially in the Warbonnet paint. If anybody thinks otherwise, bring it on!!!

No Diseasal comes close to the beauty, elegance, and grace of a 2-8-2 Mikado. Mikes were the most numerous steam locos used in America. They are and always will be a thing of beauty.

The D&H sharks

The Chesapeak & Ohio 2-6-6-6 Allegheny. Close 2nd is the C.P.R.R. Jupiter 4-4-0. 3rd is the SD80MAC in CSX “Bright Future” colors.[:)]

My username says it all.

OH NO![:0] Everybody!! Take Cover!!![:I]

I must say that it would have to be the British A4’s but as for american locos it would have to be UP’s 4-8-8-4 big boy

MY favo(u)rite is the 4-6-2 Pacific pulling a fast passenger train thru the Canadian prairies in the 40’s and early 50’s. So there! [:D]

Probably the BQ23-7 or the U18B. I like them because they are different, and out of the ordinary. SD’s and C’s and CW’s and AC’s get boring really quick. Too bad they’re all gone[:(]

O too much to say, just everything B&M!

I am awestruck by any of the four-cylinder behemoths. Anything with two pairs of valve gear and drivers is a work of art, let alone the engineering.

However…that NYC S1b is a thing of b-e-a-u-t-y. And my pupils definitely dilate when taking in the lines of the PRR J1. Hard to separate those two.

8500HPGASTURBINE,

Did your wife just happen to be in the room when you typed your last point? Hmmm…
