Question of the Day!

What kind of trians(engine type)run through the route of The White Pass?

Is this a test? The correct answer isn’t “white one’s” is it?

I have absolutely no idea, though I’d like to know. Where is “The White Pass”?

If you mean the white pass & Yukon then narrow gauge mikados and a couple of types of ALCO diesels. LGB did the mikado a couple of years ago in G and the ALCO’s pop up every couple of years in all sorts of liveries, and I think it’s railmaster in new zealand do the steam locos and diesels in Sn3.
Search on GOOGLE IMAGES for w.p.&y.r. or white pass

I guess I can safely rule out a British mallard.

Monto3, is it too much trouble to date each of the QOTD’s in the title, in order to tell them apart? They all start looking the same. Thanks! [:)]

And it is a beautiful ride. Rode most of it from the back of a car hanging over side taking pics.

Novicerr, when were you in Skagway? We were there in 2001, August., by far the most scenic train excursion we have ever been on.

Greyfox,
We took an Alaskan Cruise in Sep 03. The whole trip was exciting and beautiful. By far, the best part for me was the train excursion. Wanted to move to alaska, but wife vetoed it.[:(]

Did the cruise thing in Sept. 99. My wife looked after arrangements re: side trips/tours. She thought I would be overjoyed with the Yukon and White Pass. She forgot about my problem with ‘heights’. Most ot the train ride was wonderful. Beautiful. A photograhers dream of heaven. Accept when all of the land disappears from ‘both’ sides of the train and you realize that you are hanging out there in space. Only someone who has a problem with heights has any concept of what I’m talking about. The United States is chuck full of some of the most beautiful sights in the world. I have holidayed in 49 of the 50 states. Guess which one I have not visited???

California, & montanna?

Not California or Montana.

There is only one I have not visited.

Anyone else?
