Curious to know if anybody has any feed back on this DVD? Are they all in Adobe PDF format? Half of my reason for ordering would be for the scale drawings. I’d order, but I’d like to make sure that articles and drawings can be printed, because it would drive me nuts reading these all on the computer.
DVD is not due to be released till December.
The DVD(s) are not going to be released until December 2011, so no one knows yet except the people at Model Railroader magazine. You need to address your question to them.
MR Editor Neil Besougloff answered your question and several others two or three weeks ago on these forums:

You’ll find his answer on page 4 of this thread.
If nothing else you can always do to capture the drawing and then paste it into Paint.
Enjoy

If you read the ad for this product carefully you will see that they will be in PDF format and you are encouraged to print pages of interest.

My big question is if there is going to be any sort of index/serach capability. National Geographic on DVD does this and it’s fantastic.
From the description on the pre-order page:
EXPLORE the fully-searchable index instantly by issue, keyword, title, contributor and more.
I have a couple of questions dealing with the dvds. First, is how can a person pay for the set if they do not have a credit card. Can the payment be made through Paypal for example. The other question would be have they thought about how they will carry on after this? For example do a dvd for every 5 yrs. So the 5 yr dvd would come out in 2016 and that one will have the 76-80th yrs.
