Question on Atlas switches

I am planning on using Atlas customline turnouts, and the tortoise undertable switch machines. Any reason this will not work? Don’t want to get into it and find a problem.

thanks

The Atlas Custom Line Turnouts have one out of spec area that is, fortunately, easy to correct. (Unfortunately, all HO turnouts have at least one parameter out of spec according to the NMRA survey published last year). The flangeway at the guardrail across from the frog is too wide. To correct this, buy a pack of Evergreen styrene strips .010" by .060" and cut pieces a little longer than the guardrail. glue this to the face of the guardrail to narrow the flangeway. When the glue dries, trim the top even with the guardrail top and taper the ends to match the flare of the ends of the guardrail. Check with the NMRA gauge flangeway “no-go” tab, it should not drop into the opening. The purpose of this guardrail is to keep the flange of the opposite wheel from striking the pointed part of the frog when going through from the facing points.
