Hello, all. I am working on a layout based loosely on childhood memories of various aspects of the mining towns found up and down the Keweenaw in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan - the “Copper Country.” A lot of the small towns in that area have paved their roads with mining “poor rock” (rock that didn’t contain ore) and don’t look like the standard big-city concrete or blacktop roads. Is there ideas on modeling poor rock-paved roads? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you’d like some paved roads, I’ve found this to be a neat trick;

Hope this helps!
