Your talking about pictures you’ve taken right? Heres how, upload the pics to your computer, then get a free account at a place like www.photobucket.com, upload your photos on that place, once its in there copy the “direct link” from under the photo, then when your here make it look like this.
[ img ] yourdirectlinkfrom photobucket [ /img ] <----- leave out the spaces in the “line of code” had to stick them in there to be able to show you what to type, but run the whole thing together with no gaps at all.
Do that and your photo will show up here.
RSS has something to do with a remote link to this place, i have a PSP and havent figured out just what it does for me eather.
Hope that helps ya a little bit.
To post images in a text box, you must use a third party…a host server that operates 24/7. This server won’t store image files, only their URL’s. So, you will want a free account at railimages.com, photobucket, or any other server of that nature. Then you upload images you wish to post. From that point, once you have your account replete with images, you must take the URL of the full-sized image and insert it here. Note…full-sized, not the thumbnails that your account page will provide viewers. You’ll right click on the full image, scroll down to properties, and then highlight the URL that appears in the text. Copy it with a right click and “copy”. Exit, come back to here with a series of “back pages” or simply go directly to your “favourites”. Open a reply. Paste the image URL. Frame it with the following: no spaces, directly in front, place two square brackets…like [ and ]. Between them place img. Two more brackets immediately after the URL, and place between them /img. Post your reply and you will have your image.
This may seem highly involved and daunting. After your fifth image, it will be second nature and much faster…if I can do it, so can you.
Others should supply different techniques with luck. It depends on your operating system or browser in some case. Also, there is an insertion icon at top…looks like a tree beside the yellow smilie icon. I don’t know how to get it to work…maybe someone can help us out?

For the rating (stars), when you open a thread by clicking on its title from the main forum page, at the top of the first post is the star icon. Click on it and follow your intuition.

Selector is right. But I always use my Photobucket here.
After your pics are uploaded, and you want to post the image in the text box here, just type in your post, then in a another window, go to photobucket. On the thumbnail you have 4 options. Just click on the IMG code & it will copy. Then return to your post & Control V or click on Edit/Paste. Then ENTER. There you go.

Voila:

A good description of all the moves required to arrive here with a photo. It boggles my mind with the abilities of the modern computer and it requires one to wade thru such a maze to arrive here with a photo…!
I gave up long ago.
Thank all of you for answering the questions…I think I understand it…The way I see it you have copy from the 3rd source to this forum, using the URL on your photo?
That’s about it…a third party is needed, a proxy, that will actually store your reduced density images (no 3 meg images on these sites. They are meant to be about 80k or less…in most cases. You can probably pay and get more). When you link to them, the server won’t show a link if you use the codes with img and /img inserted. It will actually show the thumbnail, which you can click on in the text box here and it will appear full sized.
Nifty, if a bit of drudgery. There are easier ways, but I have never bothered to learn them.

Quentin, would you like to work with me off-line? I’ll talk you through it, perhaps even a step at a time until you get comfortable with them.
I know it seems a muddle. The first time I read the steps I felt my head spin with the first, “Next,…” [(-D] As in so many of these trials, it is in the details, but amazingly they become old hat. I can almost do it in my sleep now due to my model imagery posting next door.
I will happily talk you through it if you wish. Once you have it down pat, you’ll wonder what all the fuss was about…trust me.

I apprecite the offer…If I get some photos that I would like to post I will contact you and see if we might succeed.
I even signed on to Photobucket, oh back some time ago and thought I’d try it again and got mired down and finally just decided {again}, to shelf it.
I do appreciate your offer. We’ll see.
Looks like you may have missed a " ] " in your link.
Actually, on further searching, it seems it’s a bum link.
Is this what you were trying to post?

like your Wankle rotor…Neat.
Hi RotoRanch. I had a 73 Mazda. I think it cranked 7,500 rpm. And it cracked at 90,000 miles. I opted out of the class action & Mazda gave me a factory rebuilt at half price, installed. That little wagon would go. 4 speed, 2 distribitors, 3 sets of points. It ate spark plugs let me tell ya. I put some platinum plugs in it to solve problem. They set me back a half day’s pay as I recall.
You had one of those too, Bob? Back in my bachelor days, I had a little green '73 RX3 coupe until I got tired of it and traded it in for a Jeep CJ-7. I loved finding myself in front at a stoplight next to some souped-up muscle car, and squealing the tires in the first three gears, making the other guy’s jaw drop.

Yes this is the pic I selected and apparently it did what I wanted it to…This was just a test to see if I COULD do it ! So if it works like this I will be posting other pics on Sat. May 10 for Train Day…
…Back in '71 I rode an experimental {Capri} in England with a 3-rotor Wankel at roughly 220 kph on a motorway…What a ride.
Saw 2 rotor Wankel engined Vegas…ready for production…{we had several in our BWA lab in Muncie}, and then the project was cancelled.
How do I turn on receipt of PMs? I keep getting a message that a filter is not allowing a PM>
In your profile (click on your black name at the top left corner of any one of your own posts, or it is at “Update Profile” to the upper right, in blue, where it also says Faq and Logout in the masthead) scroll down to the very bottom and place a check in the third circle from the bottom of the page…I seem to recall it’s the one. Maybe the second, but whichever, it will be obvious. Don’t forget to click on Save at the bottom right of the page before you leave it.
If it is already checked, then the “filter” is internal to your firewall settings, and you will have to change them yourself. Maybe someone more IT-savvy than I can help you with that.

While there are a lot of sites that will host your pictures, I took another route - for a nominal fee I got my own domain and webspace. If you want to build your own website, it’s really easy, or you could just use it to host pictures.
