I have a p2k sd50 …I have 18’'radius curves…had to modify coupler pockets so there was no binding leading to derailments…any wat to the point… I think my Granddaddy is going to get me a sd40-2 for Xmas…will i have to do modification to this one as well? it is a athearn blue box kit…J.W.
Well, unless you get some one who has had exact personal expeierence, it will ne hard to say. My guess is that “should” be able to get away with it. Athearn are pretty user freindly. I wish you the best. I hoep someone posts something, I would liek to know for sure.
“Back in the day” I had an Athearn BB SD40-2 that I used on 18" curves with no problems. I think you will be OK.
