Radio frequencies

I will be visiting my son in Wheaton, Illinois. Can anyone give me the current Union Pacific and Metra radio frequencies for that area.

You might want to try joining the IL RR list at: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/IlliniRail

That’s my old stomping ground, but I haven’t been there in a long time… So I doubt any of the info I have would be accurate.

I recall the former C&NW used either the 160.040 or 160.890 mHz the vicinity of Chicago, but that was before it was merged into the Union Pacific so my information could be out dated. Another suggestion, if your scanner is equipped for a programmable search, would be to set the lower limit somewhere around 160.215 mHz, and set the upper limit around
161. 490 mHZ when you are near the ex C&NW tracks, and see what you can pick up.

Rudy I think that old CNW radio freq should be 161.040 not 160.xxx .
I am not sure if Metra still uses that channel.
The former CNW Geneva Sub is listed as using 160.890 on the
following website.
