I am about to launch on a nice rail based vacation,
Doing research for the Ol’ Berkley Concord & Central Sierra RR Ya Know.
Anyways…West to East.
Sacramento, Denver(a 1 day stop), Chicago, 3 day stop. (on the Zephyr)
Chicago to NYC, (Lakeshore limited). and the return on them very suspicious aluminum
aeroplanes. (biplanes are safer, monoplanes cant take the strain).
Will take many photo’s and gonna make sure that digital camera finally earns it’s keep.
----OH yes, the layout. I have my benchwork 80% complete. (it’s supposed to break
down easy, designing that takes time). I 've picked up various photo’s of ca 1950 steamers
& equipment. And of smaller freighters. One in particular that will the center piece of dock
yard (freelance is adjacent to a part of sacramento delta) The ship will measure about 11’’
I am Two other minor vessels of the period. a dredger & Small Tug. On the back of the
Slip will be Flood Control gate With a RR Bridge crossing mounted on it. I am tempted to put
a Road beside the rails but it may look awkward, we’ll see.
