Rail fare increases anger British passengers
Well, maybe they should renationalize their railroads over there. Privatization has caused a lot of problems. The only thing I can say about socialism vs. capitalism is that while the public sector isn’t the answer to everything, neither is the private sector. It’s all about which is best for each individual situation.
This happens every year and it’s political. Some years ago the decision was made that “regulated” fares should go up by inflation plus 1%. As a result, every year we get this outpouring.
It was also decided that fuel (petrol/diesel) prices should go up in a similar way (but not identical).
On several occasions the political will has buckled. Guess which increase has not occurred when the political will has failed?
What ever, socialism DOSEN’T work PERIOD. don’t tell me you want to do Lexington / Concorde again. We will you know.
