The museum will operate prototypical freight and passenger trains on
our 2.5 mile circuit of track for the benefit of photographers. This is
a great opportunity to view and photograph many of the new items which
the museum has acquired over the last two years. The museum roster
currently includes over 40 locomotives and over 100 cabooses, freight
and passenger cars.

A swap meet will be going on inside the building with several dealers
selling antique railroad memorabilia.

The evening’s entertainment will feature noted rail photographer and
author Dale Sanders of CTC Board magazine fame.

A night photo session will be hosted. You will need a tripod and cable
release to participate in the night photo session.

Additional slide shows will be presented in the evening inside the shop
building.

The museum gift shop will be open.

The museum is featuring a new display on locomotive technology
inside the engine house this year.

Portola is about an hour from downtown Reno and Truckee.
