What comments are ther on the Aristo Mikado in regards to operating and running the locomotive, problems etc. and satisfaction of owing one?
Your best bet is to look at the Aristo forum, search for “Mikado”, specifically for wheel issues, photos, and locked threads.
There is a lot of information there on the subject.
Mr. Curmudgeon had a lot to say on the subject much to the displeasure of Mr. Polk.

I’ve had very little that needed to be said about this engine, as so many others have done such a fine job reporting things, with lovely photographs, parbably much to Mr Polks displeasure.
Just after this thread went up was a brand new post on the AC forum about the specific locomotive, and I really hate to break this to you, but it wasn’t me who posted it.
I do end up working on a lot of locomotives and rolling stock from this company, but after the fiasco on the old lysol, I own none of it.
That’s why I sent the fellow to the Polk Fawning Site, so he could see for himself from the mouths of those who are so full of praise for the products, the issues at hand.
Other than that, since we now have three of us in this thread, one asking questions, one directing them towards the answer, what positive function are you serving in this thread?

One of the things that drives folks nutz about me (and trust me, there are many), is that I am no respecter of persons, and I call 'em as I see 'em.
All manufacturers.
I work with those that are willing to work with me to solve an issue, whether it be quality control or a design issue.
This one has been quite enjoyable to sit back and watch.
Other than what TOC said, they’re smooth, strong and reliable. Disclaimer! I’ve put many hours on a Pacific and a Mallet, but not actually a Mikado.

I have had nothing but trouble with my mikado, several drive train binding issues, terrible track pick up, the worst runner i have (or had as at this moment it is being repaired, sent six weeks ago!)[}:)]
