Railfanning the UP triple main in Nebraska

I am heading out Wednesday night early Thursday morning to head to Nebraska somewhere. I’m meeting a friend who’s driving back to Wisconsin from Bozeman Montana and figured somewhere in Nebraska would be the halfway meeting point (plus gives me a reason to go back to the triple main). I really don’t have to ask about the frequency of the trains, just the scanner frequencies of the UP and the BNSF around Grand Island. I’m sure that the rail traffic won’t be up there because of Thanksgiving but I’m still heading out that way. Last time I went, there was a big blizzard in Wyoming that basically shut down the PRB and a big derailment didn’t help either, but I still saw about 70 or so trains.

Dont know the frequencies. Just wanted to tell ya to have a great time. I kind of like the line better on slower days of the week anyway. Still plenty++ of trains but generally less congestion and higher speeds.

HAve FUN! I wish I had friends from Montana

Well it’s 6:30pm central time and time to leave. Just wanted to say thanks for the scanner frequencies.

Wow take good care as I heard it is snowing in Omaha already
