Railmaster Sn3 Loco Kits

I am in the process of re-directing my model railroading interest. Space limitations point towards the smaller scales, like N scale, but aging eyes and shaky hands demand a bigger scale. Exploring my options, I have come across Railmaster Sn3 loco kits, which I have never heard of before. Is there anybody in this forum who can share his experience with this manufacturer with me?

You might try contacting Paul Scoles. He’s got several Railmaster locos on his roster.

The Railmaster Sn3 kits are definitely expert level kits. If you have aging eyes and shaky hands they probably are not for them. Sn3 is the size of HO.

You should look into On30 it is larger and occupies a reasonable space and has a large following.

If you feel adventuresome you could try 55n3. It is slightly bigger than HO standard gauge and takes up the same space. Visit:

Thank you if you visit

I would not call myself an expert, but I have built live steam locos and assembled many an HO loco kit, so the Railmaster kits should be within my level of skill. The question for me is how well the kits are engineered and how well the white metal parts are cast, in terms of fit and surface.

I have not yet found a lot of info in the web about this manufacturer or the kits, so any info is welcome.

Google “building a railmaster sn3 c-19”

Thanks, Harold, for posting that info. Reading the thread on “Building a Railmaster C-19” gives me the impression, that the quality of the kit justifies the price asked, given the level of detail supplied. I am interested in the WP&Y RR Mike as the core of my future NG layout.
