Some people will do anything to help a multi-billion dollar, tax exempt empire. Taxpayers lose again.
Is this relocation north of the Arch? Will the line still go through the tunnels by the Arch? More details would be nice. Also, may of these articles, including this one, could use a map. However, it may not be practical to draw up a map and still get the story on Newswire the same day.
Landon go to www.nextstl.com and you will get some good details. Yes, the proposed location is north of the Arch and yes, line still goes through the tunnels by the Arch. I believe it sees up to 15 trains a day, BNSF to its connection with NS as well as Terminal Railroad moves, and the occasional Amtrak routing of Chief and Lincoln Service.
I believe the owner of the Rams has acquired a very large tract of land in Anaheim, CA. I suppose this is Saint Louis fighting to keep the team, which I am glad to hear. I enjoy seeing NFL games in Saint Louis, and the Rams could be the greatest show on turf again someday soon! And to keep this rail-related, I can take the Texas Eagle to Saint Louis and transfer to the Metrolink to get to the current stadium. It sounds like the new stadium would be near the Laclede’s Landing Metrolink stop. Good luck Saint Louis; hope you get to keep the Rams!
@Daniel Kelly, that is a “multi-billion dollar, tax exempt, LEGAL MONOPOLY empire.”
If the Ed Jones dome were 50 years old I could see building a new stadium; but come on; everytime the Ram’s owner wants a new perk he wil threaten to move the team back to LA.
We all remember the Raider’s moving to LA and then back to Oakland. because the stadium inLa was half full. Thank goodness I am from the frozen tundra of Green Bay who’s team is owned by the people not some rich windbag owner.
Kind of makes them a bunch of commies; but I’m sure the Packers will stay put; just too bad the C&NW lines from Chicago did not. ( thats for another time ).
