Railroad author, photographer Doug Harrop dies

Another King is dead.
Harrop’s realm was the Wasatch, Western Utah and Wyoming, central Nevada, and he ruled, while adventuring out and capturing images outside there.
Other lamented kings: an NP RR dispatcher in Montana and Idaho, and in their territories (kingdoms), Kindig and Griffiths; NY Metro…Oregon, Puget Sound , Washington and Idaho, they had and have inspired photographers to make pictures in their Kingdoms…Bachman and Greenstien.
Requims and celebrations of their work…and Harrop’s.

Great guy. He will b e missed1

Doug wrote with an insider’s perspective and an enthusiast’s heart. For me, there was never enough of his work.

I always found Doug Harrop’s work to be well done, informative and entertaining, and felt that I had lots in common with him. And now to learn that he had a '69 Roadrunner - that seals the deal! Condolences to his family, his friends and to the railfan community at large.

Doug was an amazing storyteller and a great photographer. I will always remember him stating he loved his job and enjoyed what he was doing.
