Hi guys
Im new here, just embarking on a project to automate my existing DCC railroad. I’m based in th UK and model UK prototypes in the 1930s and 40s.
Up to now I’ve been using a Lenz DCC system with JMRI panel pro, I assumed this would be ok to use for automation, but I’m now having second thoughts, having seen Railroad & co.
Im not getting very far on the Uk forums with practical advice on this decision, so I thought I’d look over the pond. Can anyone out there give advice?
Kevin
Much like I said in the thread on an alternative to Surroundtraxx - JMRI can pretty much do anything RR&Co can do, but you are mainly on your own, and have to write scripts instead of just clicking on things. But it’ free, other than your time. RR&Co has all the bells and whistles, and is definitely easier to get that kind of thing going, but it definitely is NOT free. Your choice.

Yep. My thoughts as well.
I have also been thinking about layout automation and have decided that if I am going to do it, I would get RR&Co.
