Railroad Commercial

On Thursday or Friday, I saw an ad on FOX during Primetime from GE. It showed the connecting of the transcontinental in the old days with the witnesses getting buried in steam engine smoke, then said about how they were improving environmental stuff on modern day locos, and they showed a wide-cab. Did anybody else see this commercial? It’s so nice to see a railroad commercial on TV…I don’t see them these days. If anyone else has seen it, does anybody know if there is a copy of it on the Internet, or how it can be downloaded if there is?

It was a commercial for their Evolution Series Locomotives…the GEVO’s…Its been airing since mid July

I have seen the commercial several times and find it a bit humerous. The commercial producers have taken a bit of artistic license with their renditions of the Jupitor and the 119 at Promentory. The National Park Service took the 119 out for its 2006 maiden run on Friday. Guess what – almost no smoke at all. We did generate a lot of steam (not smoke) in the process of testing all the valves, etc. But once, we got the fire hot, the 119 runs with almost a clear stack. It was beautiful.

I saw that ad twice yesterday during the NBA Playoffs - also one about an elephant that was dancing in the rain - it was centered around “EcoMagination” but mentioned the trains too.

My son’s favorite commercial

You mean you just saw it? It has been around for many, many months. [:D]

You got to watch more TV man!
