Railroad electrification proposals

What! No flack yet from your Canadian readers for putting what are clearly Canadian electrifications under “USA Electrifications”?

What about the proposed electrification of the Clinchfield? I found the Carolina Power & Light proposal for electric power in the company archives. The CP&Lplan included adding a dedicated coal-fired boiler at its Asheville steam station. The Asheville steam station is not located on the Clinchfield.

David is right. O Canada! Where are you? The heading should have read North America and included Canada and Mexico as well! Gads, even Cuba’s Hershey Cuban was under wire! The modern pioneer in high speed rail for people remains Japan when it opened it’s line in 1964. America’s continued refusal to hang wire and clean up the environment makes it a Third World Banana Republic in the 21st Century!

Completely missed the GE proposal to the Milwaukee to close the gap between Avery and Othello and rejuvenate the electric operation.
