Railroad Shops?

I know some people who have shoped at Railroad chop shops and wanted to know if anybody has ever seen one or bought something. I was looking for one but I don’t know where to begin to look.

Thanks
Dustin

Chop shop inferrs illegal activity, What are you looking for?

Looking for a railroad scrapper maybe?

What I ment was a Train shop that has got a lot of Locomotive Parts that has gotten them legally from engines that have gotten scraped and they sell them to Railfans. My cousin has a light from a service engine and he got it leagaly. I know these stores that I am looking for are legal but I take bake the name “Chop Shop”. Sorry for the mix-up.

There are many places to do exactly what you want to do. I have no idea where you are located so I cannot make a suggestion .

I live in Sheboygan County, WI.

Try independent locomotive in the twin cities.

This is news to me I didn’t think rail scrap yards would sell certain items like this. I might have to do some investigation on that one and see if there are any in the wonderful state of PA. I personally know of lots of junk yards over here in Philly PA we call them the “auto graveyards”.

Ask about purchasing a piston from an EMD 567 or 645 power assembly, they make a great pencil holder for the desk at work. Take along several layers of plastic trash bags to haul your goodies home with since all of this stuff will be incredibly dirty and oily.

try larrys truck and electric …outside of youngstown OH…
