Does your model railroad have a website? In this month’s issue of MR, there is an article about a UP layout and in the article the author included a write up about how much more interesting your railroad can be if you create a history for it. I’ve often done this in the past, but now for my newest layout my freelance road will actually have a ‘company website’. Just something to add a bit more fun? What are your thoughts.
Hope to do one this coming year. I enjoy the one other people have done.
might be cool if i had a freelance, but i model BNSF and they already have a company website
I did one for my previous layout, but I stopped ‘advertising’ it because my new layout isn’t finished yet and the old content was getting stale…
Some day…
I am actually working on my own website, which will have a section devoted to my MRR, a section for my greelance RR, and my prototype stuff. It’s got a great domain name, www.cpfoamer.tk how about that! So in otehr words I don’t fit in your poll!
Well I have started a web site with the help of my wife, it’s not about a fictional railroad as a matter of fact I don’t even have a layout yet. We will be moving in the spring to the very beautiful state of Maine so I am going to start there. I like the PRR so my site is a little about the PRR, history of railroading, some pictures of are travels, and so on and so on. I have some pages setup for my layout when I get that started. The site is not finished yet do to getting ready to move and other things but its coming along go so far. Take a look, sign my guest book and let me know what you think good or bad I won’t take offence it will help me make the site better. www.prrinho.com
Maybe in retirement, right now I don’t want to devote the time it would need.
Enjoy
Paul
Yes, I have web site for my N Scale “ecletic” railroad. If interested check out: http://ALines.home.att.net
Site describes construction progress. Actual construction is somewhat beyond what the site shows, so I have to update the site before too long! That’s the biggest problem, keeping things in step!
Yes I do. It has my HO, G, and a lot of other train stuff. I hope to create a better one over Winter Break when I have no school. Right now, my time is being taken up by studying for finals!
BTW my site is in my signiture…or just click here www.reddingrailroads.8k.com
I don’t even have my own computer, therefore no website, though I probably wouldn’t have one anyway. However, I think the concept of somebody creating one for their railroad is a nice idea. If you are that proud of your model railroad, go for it. I do have a history and train schedule for my layout, more for my own purposes.
what about purist prototype modelers…don’t they get a say in the matter?..chuck

A couple of years ago, I had big plans for a web site. I bought some software to help develop a web site and even went so far as to set up an account. Today, it is covered in cobwebs.[:I] Just can’t seem to justify the time away from the layout building.
