“On the Twentieth Century” promises to be a great musical worth seeing!
Kristen Chenoweth is in it. I’d love to go seeit.
Seems similar to a John Barrymore movie.
I remember the original back in 1978. Guess I’ve been around for a while. Not only do I remember it because I’m a train geek, but because it was the first Broadway play where orchestra tickets hit $20 apiece. Does that seem quaint or what?
To Allen Seal, it is based on the John Barrymore / Carole Lombard movie.
Solari boards? In 1938?
I’ve read several theater reviews in New York News Papers. Go get your ticket punch and see it.
Sorry. But I didn’t finish my comment. Go get your ticket punched and see this show! Great reviews from the New York Newspapers.
I might just have to schedule a trip to Broadway this year.
This promises to be a great show. I saw the original in 1978 with Imogene Coca playing the role of Mrs. Pimrose and it is a hilarious scene. The music is great and very uplifting. I’m on the Board of Trustees for a local professional theater in Maine and we produced this show several years ago to great audience enjoyment. I’ll be in New York in mid-May and i think I’m going to get a ticket. I doubt the price will be $20 though.
