Does anyone have info on which railroads currently run through Seneca Falls, NY?
Also, how can I find out going back in the 40s-80s?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Joe

Hi Joe!
Currently that would be the Finger Lakes Scenic Railway: http://fingerlakesscenicrailway.com/
Used to be Conrail and before that the NYC I believe. Not sure if they were served at all by the Lehigh Valley. There may be some info at the FGLK site I listed or someone one there may be able to give you more specific information. Good luck!
Hi Ray,
You are correct. Now I will debate whether i want to do NYC or Conrail, although I am leaning towards NYC.
Take care,
Joe
The Lehigh Valley used to serve Seneca Falls in the 60’s, but all the track is gone now. LV was south of the canal; NYC was north of it.
Existing LV landmarks are the plate girder bridge across the canal on Rt 96 in Geneva (east of the truss bridge), a nice girder bridge near Silver Creek golfcourse, and some abutments on Rt 414 south.
The Seneca Falls tracks linked LV’s Auburn division with Geneva Junction. LV shared the NYC bridge over the north end of Cayuga Lake.
In the village there was a yard near Rt 414/Ovid St until the new canal system. The canal cutoff LV’s eastward plans so they added a huge detour at Waterloo, to a few miles south of SF, then north again to the lake bridge. This left the yard as a stub with no through traffic and no way to turn around.
