Rails Versus Railfans - When they get us back

Unless my memory is shot (a possibility) I had no idea that this engineer was taking my picture when I was taking his in April 1979 in Elizabethport. Scanning it, I cracked up, laughing out loud. I’m not sure if the conductor is taking part in the antics or just going along for the ride.

[(-D]This is hilarious. I want to know who got the better picture the railfan or the railroader?[:D] Wonder if this has ever happened to me and I didn’t even notice. Thanks for posting that Charles.

I’ve got a couple pictures from my cab ride a couple of years ago that show fans taking pictures of the loco I was riding.

It doesn’t bother me in the least if the Rails are shooting back… just so long as the deer don’t start doing it, too.

Great looking photo and a classic locomotive and color scheme.

Thanks for sharing.

Your right. That could be very bad…

with cameras in cell phones now I’m sure matts and my picture are out there somewhere.we had ours taken south of stanley yard in toledo.

stay safe

I’ve never noticed my picture being taken before, not to say it hasn’t.

i remember once in Altoona when i was watching a trio of SD40-2s waiting to leave with the MPRVP. a family on a bike trip came up and watched too. then the conductor poked his head out of the window and started talking to the kids. the engineer also leaned out and got a shot of us with his cell phone camera.

oh wait a sec. i have a picture of that event…

i always feel happy when i look at this pic. it’s nice

Very nice picture…Did you knew them? How did you get their picture?

I love a blue locomotive in the morning…It’s like victory!

I’m still waiting for an FEC trainman to post my picture here too.

I did know them. The one on the right worked out there for a few months but decided it wasn’t for him and found another job. He emailed me the picture, and I emailed him mine.

Very Nice! Thanks for the info…[yeah]
