Railway Express Agency uniforms - what color?

Santa brought me one of the nice new Railway Express vans from Classic Metal Works. But, the model does not have a driver. It’s easy enough to open the van up, and it already has an interior for the cab, but what color should I paint the driver’s outfit? I’ve googled up some images, but the ones with pictures are mostly black and white, and those that are in color are pictures of models like ours.

Thanks.

It seems to me they were olive drab, similar to current UPS uniforms or fatigues (before they went camo). My brain keeps trying to come up with of an image and they wore a military style billed cap too.

Won’t swear to it, but that’s what comes up out of the depths. Don’t know that the station we used to stop at even had an REA vehicle or driver. Folks may have had to pick up their own at the station.

By the way, I see you said you just had a vacation. What’s the idea of planning a ski outing the same weekend as the Amherst show? You can ski any weekend, show is only once a year. We’ve got plenty of snow and I hear you do too.

Maybe next year.

Have fun,

Richard

Howdy, Mr.B,

Just googled up a WWII era poster showing a REA employee (holding a package) in Army dress uniform green. His hat was a softer variant of the NYPD octagon cap.

How do I know it was WWII? Immediately to the front and below was a shirtless GI with a 105mm howitzer shell…
