Only interested in Afghanistan as it relates to Trains as they are a developing country with basically no railway network. So I like to check in from time to time as the country wants a railway network and also wants to build one out. So I came across this rather interesting update. Lets not get into politics here, just wanted to start this thread to look at railway development in the country.

Lines built in from Pakistan would be presumably their 5’6" gauge. Are the former Soviets states to the north the Russian standard 5’ gauge?
