Rand Hood: Where are yah?

Guys,

I was just wondering about Rand Hood yesterday, it seemed like back in the day he used to be all over the MR Magazine but I haven’t seem his work in some time. I’m I wrong or is he just laying low? It seemed like he was always winning the photo contests.

Was his layout ever featured in the MR as the main layout? If yes, does anyone know what issue?

Does he ever visit this forum?

Does he have a website?

I’ve seen his layout in MR, but not sure what issue. I’ll go look it up and see if I can find it. I thought he did great work, too.

OK, it wasn’t his layout that was featured, it was his snow techniques. January and February 1996 MR. February '96 also features the Franklin and South Manchester at that point.

If I remember correctly, I don’t think he ever really had a full layout - just a few modules.

Honestly, I have no clue but all of his pictures that I’ve seen of his work, it sure looked like their had to have been a layout, or that’s a lot of modules.

On the other hand, I could have mistaken other DRG&W layouts for his, but I’m sure that’s not the case.

I did a google search using “Rand Hood” and “layout”, but the closest thing I could find to a layout of his own is in the December 2001 Mainline Modeler, no online collection of his layout photographs. Rand did do alot of the scenery on Doug Tasgold’s layout, according to this Keller Video Productions link: http://www.allenkeller.com/GMR33.htm

If you find aything in the way of online photos I’d sure like to see them[:P]
