I’m borrowing the storeroom computer so I’ll be brief. We have arrived in Maine safely, I began my new job last Monday. My first official act as Manager was ordering brake shoes for a “new” locomotive. The MMA has purchased a B23-7 with AAR trucks and cast iron 18" brake shoes. I ordered direct replacement HF comp shoes to replace them. My first week at my new job is behind me, the second has just begun.

I once saw a book titled “How to Speak New Hampshah.” Probably helpful in Maine as well. My ex was from NH, but I managed to break most of the accent… She kept leaving the second “r” out of our last name…
I read once that the phone company, whilst developing the automated information service, had to program the “ears” of the box to recognize “fy-av” and “niyun”.
