Randy, you smooth talker!

Okay, you talked me into it. I ordered a refurbished/returned J1 from Outlet Direct.

My wife thanks you. No, really…!

-Crandell[;)]

Sorry, but I am unsure if Randy has seen this…no reply yet. I am bumping this one time, only.

Crandell - Let me know how it turns out. I have been contemplating buying a refurb myself but have hesitated not knowing if it was worth the savings.

Will do, Terry. I have had the Niagara for three weeks now, and find that it is everything I had hoped. In fact, if you were following in other threads, I found the pilot truck inverted, and learned that I had to leave its retaining screw backed out even when I righted it in order for it to follow my slightly uneven track better. A couple of days ago, I tightened that screw and placed the loco back on the track. The Niagara tracks like a champ! Whew. Lesson - don’t panic when you think you have a dud. Think it through, adjust what can be adjusted, and give the loco a good break-in. BLI’s need it.

-Crandell

Agreed. My BLI 2-8-2 Mike ran better after I lubricated it and broke it in for a while. My Athearn Mike runs smoother but it doesn’t compare to the BLI.

Tom

Crandell - Tks for the info. I will keep my eye out and see what comes up. I like my BLI SW-7 w/sound so much its all I do now is switch. I would love another one but can’t afford the price. Maybe I could get one of the refurbz.

Terry,

Check out Trainworld. I think they are advertising the SW7’s at 129.00. Of course I’m sure the choice of roadnames is limited.

If they actually have them in stock yet. TW has had that $129.99 price up there since last Spring saying that they were "available in Summer '05. It was still listed that way this past December.

Tom

Tom,

Good point. But if they do have them in stock that is quite the discount!

Dave,

Since list for the SW7/NW2s is $180, I won’t argue with you there. [:)] I just wi***hey were in my era…[sigh]
