I decided to list a few of my craftsmen kits to finance my new benchwork.
So I took some good photos and built-up some HTML code for about 8 items–took less than an hour.
Then I uploaded them–took over three hours. Three stinking hours to upload 8 items that I already had done the work for. With the exception of the Magnuson Models Victoria Arms Hotel, I’m not sure it was worth my time. I had a painting project I was really looking forward to.
I think there is something wrong with your computer or your internet connection. For me it takes less than five minutes to upload an item on to Ebay. If it took you 3 hours to upload 8 items then there is a real problem with your internet connection or your computer.
Ditto. And I have a very slow connection (128kbps). I do tend to keep the file size of my pictures small, around 150k, which still gives a good quality 1024x768 image. At 150k per picture, it only takes a few seconds to upload each one.
Yes, that sounds highly unusual, not to mention problematic. Would your computer have been trying to update something at the same time, and both actions took up most of your RAM? Weird, but it could happen, especially if your C drive needs defragging badly.
My guess is that it must have been a server issue somewhere along the network.
I uploaded my pictures to my own website and just linked via HTML. The files I uploaded to eBay were 10-12K–just text. It would take a minute or so for the pages to refresh when I made changes like click boxes. While my 150 K pictures took 10 secs to load to my site.
Last time I listed a loco ($1,200 plus) I uploaded bags of pictures and the whole process took way less than a minute. Ebay works pretty fast on the receiving end. There must have been some kind of problem.
